Name a picture you're thankful you had taken.
This one took me a few hours to decide on. I adore pictures and my family and I may very well hold some sort of record for the most random photos taken, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The picture I'm thankful for was about 18 years in the making (pardon the extra 110 pounds I'm sportin') and I don't know if I'll ever get this photo again. I hadn't seen my mammaw and pappaw since I was 14 and because we live so far apart I don't know if I'll get this photo opportunity again. I'm just glad I got one more and it was awesome being the “grand baby” again, even if it was only for a few days..
Sadly it had been so long since they'd seen me my pappaw barely recognized me at first 😦
A smile that only a grandma can make 🙂
Name a color that you're thankful for, and why??
I grew up across the country from most of my family and there was always one common bond, we were all born and raised Ohio State fans. When you're across the country, it's nice to have a bond 🙂
Tell us about the farthest you’ve ever traveled from home.
Daily Prompt: Far from home
Is it odd that the farthest I’ve ever been from home was when I went home??? Let me explain. I was born and raised in Ohio and there is a special chunk of my heart that stays there. One happy October my aunt K.C. called to ask if I wanted to come home (see?! Even she calls it home) for my mammal and pappaw’s 50th wedding anniversary. She had apparently been bumped from a flight on a business trip and received a voucher that just covered the cost of her bringing her favorite niece home for a visit 🙂
There were three main things I had to do in Ohio. White Castle, Wright Patterson Airforce Base (I was born there) and The Horse Shoe (Ohio State Football stadium). I got to do all three and see family that I hadn’t seen in fifteen years. After all was said and done I said goodbye, shed a tear, hit a goose with a plane (well the pilot did that part) and headed home. I will always love Ohio and I will always miss my family, but Utah is home.
Greatest museum ever!!
If you have a thing for planes or history or really cool stuff this is the place for you 🙂
Ahhhh the horse shoe, probably as close to “the holy land” as I could ever get 🙂
Mammaw and pappaw 🙂
These two people were worth the icky weather I endured to see them for the first time in about fifteen years.
