Name a fad you’re thankful is OVER.
There are so many but I think the fad that drove me the craziest looking back was crimped hair. You would have to see the monster that I call hair on a “bad day” to understand but when you take hair like mine and try to make it messy and frizzier it will oblige. Crimping hair came and went and I think it’s even come back again but thankfully I’m wise enough now to sit back, laugh and leave my damn hair alone 🙂
Let’s face it, most of us looked that silly with crimped hair 🙂
Name a website you're thankful for.
I don't really know that I can name a website that I'm “thankful” for but if you had seen the look on my boys face when his sonic screw driver arrived from Amazon.com you would understand why I'm thankful for that website right now.
Name a picture you're thankful you had taken.
This one took me a few hours to decide on. I adore pictures and my family and I may very well hold some sort of record for the most random photos taken, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The picture I'm thankful for was about 18 years in the making (pardon the extra 110 pounds I'm sportin') and I don't know if I'll ever get this photo again. I hadn't seen my mammaw and pappaw since I was 14 and because we live so far apart I don't know if I'll get this photo opportunity again. I'm just glad I got one more and it was awesome being the “grand baby” again, even if it was only for a few days..
Sadly it had been so long since they'd seen me my pappaw barely recognized me at first 😦
A smile that only a grandma can make 🙂
Name a recipe you’re thankful for.
MY Boneless buffalo wings. I know I know it might sound weird but it’s fun having your own “secret recipe”. I love knowing that I have a recipe that only I can create and that other people would love to have. Insert evil laugh here (mwahahahahahaha) 🙂 It’s quite an ego boost when people ask for the recipe and I tell them I can make them for them but I don’t share the recipe 😉
I’ve even made some gluten free adjustments for myself.
Name a childhood vacation you're thankful you got to take.
I don't even remember the name of the place most days, but I talk about it constantly. It was probably because we were in the middle of absolute nowhere or because the two hour horse back riding trip I took with my dad that turned into a five hour trip. No matter what the reason Rock Creek Ranch Utah is the childhood camping trip I'm thankful that I took. Rock Creek Ranch is located close to Duchesne Utah and it is wonderful. I sometimes forget that it rained almost the entire week we were there. The horse back riding was a special moment for my day and I and I am so thankful I was able to take that vacation.
Not our group because the sun is shining but you can see the beauty for sure 🙂
Name an illness you're thankful for.
Multiple Sclerosis, yes I just said that I'm thankful I have Multiple Scelrosis. Don't take that to mean that I wouldn't get rid of it if I had the chance but MS has been an amazing journey for me. MS has taught me that I'm not invincible or indestructible but also not disposable. I'm not perfect and I definitely do not do things the way “normal” people do, but I never did anyway, but I am still a damn good person to have around. I sometimes miss things that MS has taken from me but arrogance isn't one of them. I don't take things for granted like I used to because it may very well be the last time I ever get to do it. I think back to ballet and modeling dreams and then I visualize me walking down the sidewalk now and chuckle at how much happier I am being the “today me”. The “yesterday me” was a little obnoxious for my taste anyway 🙂
Me putting up MS awareness flags. Yesterday me never would have made the time.
MS walk team captain. Yep non MS Erika would have had nothing but excuses 🙂
