I have never tried a “30 days of anything” before so I would love loads of feedback on this one. I'll probably do this one on Instagram as well 🙂
30 days of thanks in November is pretty common but I would actually like to provoke some thought. I could easily name 30 thing that I'm thankful for because let's face it, all in all I'm a damn lucky lady. I want moe than that, I want to find something I'm thankful for each day that I may not think of. So here it goes.
Day 1: Name something you're thankful you didn't do.
This one came to me easily today when I made a reasonably heartless comment walking around downtown.
I'm thankful I didn't kill my baby brother.
Though at the time I thought that was the only logical course of action, I was five, and clearly still working on my “people skills”.I was in fact the big sister from HELL, keeping in mind that I don't believe in the proverbial hell. You also could call me a stark raving brat and you'd be right but let's not resort to name calling. I kicked my infant brother out of his pram (while my mom went to the restroom), I would drag him by the legs to the front door and offer him to door to door sales people. My mother truly had her hands full keeping her baby boy alive because it was bound and determined to be an only child again. Even now I wonder at times why I'm not the only child, given what a smashing success I was for my parents 😉 but I digress.
There isn't one person on this planet that can infuriate me quicker than the child I tried so desperately to “dispose” of. Knowing myself well I'm aware that that has more to do with how much I love him than anything else. So I'll just say it, I'm thankful that I never killed you Michael Anthony Sabrowski junior, but don't make me regret it :(.
Did I mention I stabbed him with a fork when he was about seven???? I did not like being messed with or poked at while at the dinner table. Doctor Phil would have had a blast with us, but what does he know 🙂
