Tell us about the last thing you got excited about — butterflies-in-the-stomach, giggling, can’t-wait excited.
I checked the daily prompt today to see if it was something I could write about, just to get me back to it. I have been so busy lately that I haven't had time to do much of anything let alone write. All of that whining aside, the reason I haven't been doing much of anything lately is also the last thing I got excited about and I mean really excited.
Comic Con came to Salt Lake City!!! Very few things in this world can consume my entire family for the better part of a week, but Comic Con did just that. The madness that ensued can't be explained but the emotion I felt the first time I walked up to the Salt Palace Convention Center Thursday afternoon to report for my first volunteer shift (well the first one that happened during the actual convention) was only topped by the gutt wrenching feeling last night when I realized that it was all over. I have been excited about Comic Con since my daughter told me it was coming a few months ago, and I haven't been so excited about anything in a really long time. The storm trooper walking down the steps only added to my giddiness 🙂
The pain I am in today after running my crippled little behind around for three days is worth it to know that I was part of the record breaking Rookie Comic Con that my city hosted. The t-shirt and badge were great but the experience was amazing and was something I will never forget. My family lost me for about three and a half days but they were so supportive and even took time out to bring me an early birthday present while I was in the midst of a full blown hobbit mad house (hobbit panel). You better believe I'll be there next year and I've already volunteered to take care of ALL of the volunteers 🙂
Full photo album will be up on my Facebook page later this week, check it out.
