Easily one of my favorite things each summer is the Chalk Art Festival. Held mid June at the Gateway every year the festival benefits the Utah Foster Care Association. I have always loved chalk art, which I blame on watching Mary Poppins one too many times as a child. In all honesty I think I love chalk art because it is so astonishing to watch people pour their heart and soul into somehpthing that will be gone with the next rain storm. Impermanence is a rare thing to witness in art.
I have been very open about the fact that most of my photos come from my iPhone but after getting my adorable little Nikon for Christmas more and more of my pictures are taken with that.
I could ramble on and on about the different drawing and how fun the featival is believe me but instead I will let the art speak for itself 🙂
Did I mention that I went both nights to see not only the process of them drawing but the completed projects as well?
Fell in love with the little green man the first night, but I loved the finished picture.
Tottoro is one of my favorite stories, so naturally I squeezed like a little girl when I saw this one.
The minions were a pretty popular theme, which made me pretty darn happy 🙂
I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to who won awards, because they were all amazing. I am going to post the full album on my Facebook page later today with all of the before and afters 🙂
