To whom it may concern, (in this case an asshole politician)
It's true that I have a disease that makes my physical well being less than desirable, but it has not effected my mental well being as of late. That being said I must also say that I completely understand how someone who's yearly wage is almost six times my own yet pays the same amount for health insurance monthly would have the audacity to tell me that medical research that may benefit me just isn't in fiscally SANE. In future don't bother to respond with a blanket letter explaining how the health and well being of the people in your home state is not nearly as important as we may believe.
The only comfort I may give is that I never voted for you in the first place, it isn't like you've lost support with your half ass, heartless form letter. I am aware that you are more than likely lobbying for a cause far greater than my own, but to quote your website “As a member of Congress, I am actively involved in sponsoring and drafting legislation about issues that are important to you”. I have read the press releases and I am not certain I agree with that statement. I agree with you that our national budget is ridiculously out of control, however you have not declined the proposed 2013 pay increase as some of your fellow congressman have. I would think we could save a substantial amount by paying you less, but let's not be crazy.
To be perfectly honest I sent you a form letter as well and I expect very little from elected representatives. My only suggestion would be to take a moment to realize that people with families and lives that they hold dear do not respond kindly to being told that their well being does not reflect fiscal sanity.
Here's to your health 😉
