If for no reason at all (except for a slight Peter Pan complex) I have discovered a new “favorite spot”. While there are many and what they really turn out to be is one of the only places I actually go when I leave the house, this one is special. Ironically this “favorite spot” is quite close to one of my long standing “favorite spots”. Coincidence? I think not.
Simply because I didn’t want to spoil it I am not posting a picture of the front of Blickenstaff’s. That being said , even from the outside the store is magical. We discovered it after one of many birthday celebrations, during a casual stroll around my favorite outdoor mall (not that Utah has many outdoor malls). At the risk of sounding cliche, walking through the door is like being transported to a different time or place. For me it was a little bit of both, and possibly a touch of a fantasy that I have only seen in movies. The first thing I noticed was the mountain of stuff animals, where I immediately made a load of new friends. That was just the beginning however, from the toys that hang from the ceiling to the toys you can jump on and ride around the store to the wall length candy section this place was amazing! There aren’t many “new toys” what they have is special, toys that make us all remember how to PLAY. I practically dragged myself and my family out, but I can assure you we will return.
